Review on ๐Ÿ”ช Freud DS1203CP3 Diablo 12 Inch Carbide Pruning Reciprocating Blade (Pack of 3) by Michael Boyle

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best saber saw blade!

Before this blade I used a regular 12 inch pruning saw to cut branches here and there. Branches 3 in. long to blade length. I've been cutting a lot lately. The main carbon steel blades dull easily. The trees I attacked were probably members of the hardwood family. The sap from these branches was sticky, which contributed to the fact that dirt quickly accumulated in the teeth when cutting, increasing the load on the saw. In these branches it is not easy to keep the chainsaw high up on the extension ladder. That's why my favorite cutting tool is a cordless saber saw. Thanks to this new blade, cutting time and effort are significantly reduced. It felt like cutting was done twice as fast. Yesterday I cut a 9 inch branch with ease. I essentially hold the saw with my left hand while my right hand is hanging from the ladder. I was surprised, impressed and satisfied with the performance of this Freud pruning knife. Would I buy again? If I had money, yes, I would definitely stock up on that particular Freud blade. But it was only bought with a gift card given by a generous and kind stranger I met on YouTube. Otherwise I would never have noticed that such a high-tech saw blade existed. This blade means business. When you need to cut heavy branches when a chainsaw isn't safe (e.g. at the top of a ladder or on a branch), this saw blade can certainly get the job done. I won't be able to buy it again but I highly recommend it for trimming. However, my only complaint is that the true cutting length is not 12 inches. The shaft is already an inch long. When installed in a saber saw, the depth of cut is set to the maximum, the actual length available for cutting is only about 9 1/2 inches, depending on the model of your saber saw.
