We bought this product to protect ourselves and our home. There are many temptations in this world and we have been looking for the best way to resist them. We love that there are different categories for different things. For example, we currently have our family's personal devices set to block social media, but leave any device that a guest brings into our home set to allow social media. We do this so we can spend more time with our family in our home. In the beginning we really had to spend some time finding the right settings for our family. We set higher limits and then slowly unblock sites that we know are clean and that were originally filtered out. We have chosen to be overprotective in studying the program, the verses are not protected enough. With Router Limits we were able to block gambling, pornography, etc. for all devices on our WiFi. This was especially nice last summer when we had a younger family member sit with the animals/pets while we accompanied the church trip. We received notifications that the product was disconnected/reconnected with timestamps. Due to the settings, the internet cannot be used at all if the device is not connected to the network, which is great for preventing attempts to bypass the settings. Shortly after, a caregiver contacted us to ask if we could lift the restrictions on the internet. We lovingly asked what they were trying to see and they didn't tell us. We explained what the technology was blocking and then asked again if they could tell us what they were trying to access as sometimes it blocked websites it wasn't sure about. If it were schoolwork, we could set up the technology to allow access to a specific school website if shared with us. Then the nurse stopped talking. We are grateful to this technology for protecting our home and this young family member from seeing anything that could cause harm. This situation has since opened communication channels to talk to the nanny about what they are exposing themselves to. While it's still your choice what you see online, we've been able to encourage you to be aware of your online choices. We plan to use this technology in our small business to protect our work environment as well. This is done to protect employees, customers and the company. We can filter out so many distractions that all set us up for success. We love that we can turn off the internet completely at certain times so no one can use our wifi when we're closed. With any technology, there's always room for improvement, but the router's limitations are the best we've found for our needs. THANK YOU for such a great product!
