I recently bought a freestanding wardrobe at a flea market (for $1). Outside oak and oak veneer. The shelves are all back in the closet and now they are stable and secure. This 8 post pack costs almost triple what I paid for a freestanding cabinet, but they have transformed it from an unstable and dangerous storage space into a useful storage space.
