This elliptical model was purchased specifically over the Scratch model to maintain the high sound quality of my Technics 1210 MKII. Do not scratch or queue this model, it is designed for high quality sound. I highly recommend studying each of the Ortofon models to understand their purpose, they are not all the same. This pickup sounds absolutely amazing! Almost no background noise, it is absolutely quiet. And I only use a 15 year old Nurmark DJ mixer, not an audiophile phono stage! The sound reproduction is captivating and full of energy, this pickup exceeded all my expectations.
