Review on Dorman 800-075: Premium 3/8" Nylon Fuel Line - Black, 10 ft. – Reliable and Durable Solution for Fuel Line Needs by Rodney Harris

Use the spark plug wire to shape it.

Apparently I turned the rear fuel line on my '99 Mustang 4.6L so that it was too close to the EGR valve. which eventually caused the leak. The dealer had nothing but a rubber hose. There weren't any parts with the same design on Ebay and I wanted them to look relatively normal. So I took this hose and crimp kit. Since my stock plastic fuel line was molded, I had to figure out how to mold it without twisting it. After trial, error and disappointment. I found that cutting off the end of an old spark plug wire and using it as a pick worked so well that I couldn't twist the wire even if I tried. I put the stopper in the hose and carefully lit a candle on the side of the line that needed to be pulled. made a bend and held it until cool (wet towel helped). It took a while, but I ended up with a relatively well-formed line to follow around the engine. I wrapped high temp heat shrink tubing around the tubing for an extra layer of protection and unplugged it. I put a clamp on the metal barbs coming off the fuel rail, heated each end and the barbed metal tube, and it slid well. I applied some clamps (just as an extra precaution) and shrunk the heat shrink tubing over the entire assembly. With so much trial and error, this was a much bigger project than I thought it would be. But this tube did exactly what it was supposed to do.
