Review on High-Quality Replacement Pan for Midwest Dog Crate by Kristi Martinez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

IT WAS PERFECT BEFORE – NOW WITH QUALITY CONTROL? EDITIONS

UPDATED. 01/26/2020 I have been using these pans for many years. We breed dogs. Until recently I was happy with Midwest pots and drawers. However, pans have changed recently. You look different. We've had to replace more than I can count - they either arrive broken or break within a few days. I just opened a replacement only to find it arrived broken. I'm no material expert, but the material seems to be harder and more prone to cracking. The spare pan idea is great, but we wouldn't need a spare pan if they weren't prone to this popping sound. They are torn at the corners, sometimes there are tears in the middle and one came with multiple tears. Shipping boxes are mostly delivered in perfect condition. Although the corners of the shipping boxes are reinforced with cardboard at the corners, the rest of the pot is just covered with cardboard with no in between, so the packaging may be a small part of the problem. However, breakage and cracking appear to coincide with changes in the actual physical composition of the cups. We've also recently had issues with two of their drawers (we have ten drawers including four in the van) and one in the car) leading us to believe that the quality control issues associated with the new pan style (textured vs. smooth ). below). ). Original rating. This replacement pan is of course perfect for MidWest 36" crates but will also fit other similar sized kennels. We accidentally broke a couple of frying pans as they are not made of thick plastic and it's a blessing to only have a frying pan at such a reasonable price Price to be able to replace. We have five dogs and one of them sometimes nibbles on the sides so we swapped out the other pans. One pan also cracked on its own due to rubbing against the wire base. I highly recommend putting a mat under the pan and between the wires of the drawer to prevent slipping, but make sure the mat is smaller than the pan and does not protrude as this could pose a choking hazard to your dog. This is necessary as the pan is lightweight tends to slip which makes quite annoying noises when the dog moves A friend told me that she used the pot replaced in the middle of the night when an accident happens, leaving the dirty one out and then flushing the dirty one out of the hose and cleaning it the next day. I see where this can be extremely useful. In any case, it's a good frying pan.

Pros
  • Please note the manufacturer's model number is 28PAN - this model number does not reflect the size of the pan
Cons
  • Almost never
