Units with square doors are hard to find. We wanted to modernize our mid-century transitional home (without disrupting the overall architecture). As a Realtor®, I've always been impressed with Baldwin's reliability, so this was my first purchase (Soho Model #: 85386.056). If you're on the border between Baldwin and Schlage and are a seasoned DIY enthusiast, you should know that Baldwin lock sets come completely disassembled - down to every bit of metal - at least mine did. While the feel is more solid, I couldn't "tune" the Baldwin lock to show smooth operation. It seemed to stick and seemed "tight but clumsy". Out of frustration I sent Baldwin back and received this sling. While it didn't feel quite as solid on the inside and didn't have the shape we were looking for (the inner plates are ROUND), installation was dead simple and the mechanism is as smooth as silk. The overall feel is an upgrade from the standard big box off the shelf store and I couldn't find anything sexier than this off the shelf one.
