Color exactly as pictured. The description says it's 7 oz, but the skein I received is only 5 oz. That won't be enough for my project. Thickness is "larger" than the 4 gauge but loosely woven and looks like it will tear badly. Knitters know what I'm talking about. TO UPDATE. I decided to use this yarn to knit a small version of the cat. Here's a picture. This is a good heavyweight yarn that will stand up to the rough treatment of children. It does split, but not as much as I thought it would, or like other thinner strands. The price was ok. In these treacherous times, everything is more expensive.
