Review on Enhanced Sterile Gridded Diameter Filtration with Membrane Filter Technology by Dee Parson

Not as described

Tried to use this as a cheaper solution to buying other brands which was a bad decision. Even filtering single-fractionated coconut oil that is completely pure and even ready for human consumption takes forever. Unlike other 0.22 micron filters, this one does not fit the description as it likely has a much smaller pore size. After wetting the medium, I attempted to filter the lavender essential oil distillate. It's fairly clean and usually goes through the filter for 300ml in about 15-20 minutes. This filter didn't even hold 50ml of oil before it had to be replaced because it was clogged. Appears entirely white, but this pore size should be well below 0.22 µm. If you are looking for a cheap MCE filter for your organics, I advise you to look elsewhere. If it can't filter essential oils or even a simple fractionated oil with no ingredients, you're just paying for a heavy paper cut.

Pros
  • Mixed cellulose ester (MCE) membrane filters are composed of cellulose acetate and cellulose nitrate. Labfil MCE 0.22um membrane filter is mainly used in microbiology.
Cons
  • Slightly crumpled
