Review on 🔌 Dorman 973-582 Blower Motor Resistor Kit for Toyota Models by Rick Alexander

This fix, part 973-582 resistor and new connector was fitted in August 2018. 16 months later I had to buy back the resistor and connector. This originally purchased resistor has failed and the connector that came with it is brown across the full width of the connector. The fan motor was also replaced with a new one. So 16 months later I'm back at the same fan speed, high. This #973-582 resistor is identical to the second replacement I have now, a Dorman 973-582 with plug. Now he's out. This part was redesigned by Toyota. The new Toyota part number is 87138-04070 and will not be offered by any third party. You will need a new Toyota connector #82141-04Q80. The OEM combo fix is available from Revain for $55. This is the only option, an OEM fix, to permanently fix this issue for 2nd Gen Tacoma trucks. I installed this OEM permanent fix and am very happy with it. You've just been rerouted and put on the right track, that's all. Enjoy. Thanks for your time.
