I installed them on my 2002 Ford Ranger RegularCab 4x2 2.3L 4cyl with manual transmission. This works well for me since I don't want a lift kit, but I drive through places where I've seen people dodging with 4x4s. Also, I sometimes weigh down the truck body, and these springs perfectly compensate for my ignorance. . I thought they could make the ride a lot harder, but they don't until I hit a big pothole or bump. In that case, I'm glad they still won't let the truck go all the way down because I've had issues with it in the past. If you never drive off-road on anything worse than well-maintained gravel roads and don't usually haul a lot of stuff in the bed of your truck, I wouldn't recommend these shocks as they are a bit stiff and a waste of time in the circumstances. . better driving characteristics. If you're like me and want to push your off-road skills to the limit, but not with a bunch of other much more expensive, albeit more politically correct options, and want to tow more than you're supposed to (or usually tow relatively large loads) then these dampers are just right for you. They work great for me!
