The specified smell is correct. Lazy is the best word for it. I read reviews that the smell goes away after a few days. I hope so, I have guests at home so I made this purchase. After the blinds were installed, I wiped them down with baking soda and water, but that didn't help. I just lit two candles in my room. If anyone knows a more efficient way to reduce the time it takes for them to become tolerable, please comment below. You are in the bathroom which I think is even worse as it is an enclosed space. The good news is that the blinds look great and appear to be very well made. My husband cursed several times when he installed them but he didn't read the instructions and just gave it a try. Finally he got it. To the people complaining that the cords to raise and lower the blinds don't work, you didn't install the brackets properly.
