This is the same filter that Mercedes uses in its cars. You just don't pay an inflated dealer price. I still change the oil and fix the brakes on my cars. With this car I will jack it up and change the oil every 10,000 miles. Mercedes uses Mobile 1 0W40 synthetic oil, which is best bought at Walmart. This filter comes with three rubber O-rings but no longer has a copper washer for the drain plug which is recommended to be replaced. The filter is located on top of the engine and is easily accessible. You will need to remove the plastic cover under the engine to access the drain plug. This is how I can change the oil and filter for about $45. While I'm at it, I'll take the wheels off and change the tires. I also check my brake pads.
