Ease of install depends upon the gas can, but it's fairly straightforward. Because the retaining bit on the cheap, yellow button caps quickly fails, the fact that there is not retaining bit on these caps is fair.but having one would make it a Five Star. Because you screw the cap on, it's not going to pop off somewhere. but if you drop it in the wrong place, you'll want a metal detector to find it.at least, that's now a possibility. As long as you treat them like the valve covers on your tires - put them in your pocket - you'll be fine. The vents will nicely replace most yellow caps.some have a slightly larger opening and the rubber gaskets fit in the opening rather than around it, but they squeeze out to provide the seal. A sturdy wire is the only thing you'll need to have on hand - think "electric fence" or household ground wire.
