Not what it's marked for.

This doesn't look like a 1/2" drive kit. It appears to be a mislabeled 1/4" drive kit. I doubt you'll ever find a 5-14mm socket set with a 1/2" drive. it makes no sense. I don't think the item was intentionally defaced, rather it was made in China with second-rate tooling. A company that didn't get the details right. The kit appears to use Apex Tool Group's venerable GearWrench 'Vortex' pass-through wrench, aka the Thru-Jack design found in many other Asian socket kits sold under license from Apex.
