I love how you can design your labels on a computer and have a pretty accurate idea of what you will get before you print the label. This will save you a lot of money in the long run since you don't have to print a lot with expensive ribbon to get it right. After a few months of daily use, the cutter is still working perfectly. This bothered me when I bought this model because it doesn't have a lever or anything to manually cut the tape if the auto cutter gets stuck or dull. But having made literally thousands of labels, there were no problems here. The computer software is easy to install and use and offers a huge range of fonts, orientations, styles and clipart options. Of course you can save your designs for reuse. In my own application, I often need the same layout but different content, such as: B. the same label with the same text, but also numbers that are consecutive from the first to the last label. Or also as cable markers, not only with different numbers, but also with different lengths to match cables and wire harnesses of different sizes. automate the labeling process. I simply select the type of label I want and enter the range of serial numbers that will be printed on the labels, the number of copies, even the AWG diameter and the number of wires in a given wire bundle so he can calculate the length needed for every label. and then just sit back and watch all the labels spit out of the printer. Anyone with programming skills can easily create their own applications. You add the Brother utility to your application and then use a simple code to send data and instructions to the printer. Create and save a template for each specific layout you want to use. The template has named fields for all label content. Your software application then simply calls up the saved template and fills in your data into specific fields and then sends it to the printer. My only issue with the screen editor that comes with the printer is that it can be a little quirky at times. It attempts to automatically resize and wrap text as you type. So if you need specific and precise spacing and alignment, you may need to play around with font sizes, alignment, etc. when designing your label or template. I was able to get some very accurate results with some trial and error. For example, a one-meter-long measuring tape with one, five, and ten millimeter markings that I put on my wire-cutting workbench. Or the exact numbering of DIP switches or LED segments in electronic control cabinets. The scale provided in the provided screen editor is exactly what you will actually get on the printed label until you go down to the smallest font sizes. You may then have to play around to find the correct font and alignment, and print some test patterns to set it up perfectly. It's cool to be able to use non-integer font sizes. You can specify a font size like 12.3 or 18.75, not just integers, so you can adjust text spacing and alignment to suit your needs. While you can print images like JPEG and GIF, don't expect it. be photo quality. But for things like company logos, it works well. The close-up of my dog's face is really recognizable - not bad for a simple line of dots on a thin label. Overall, this is a very durable and versatile label. Manufacturer. It can do much more than any label printer without a PC interface. My only question is why they bothered to make it big enough to hold so many batteries since this thing is made for a desktop computer and plugs into an outlet with the included adapter. It's not exactly wearable. I think you could use it with a laptop or something, but that would be a little inconvenient. But this is a very useful and cool product that is worth every penny spent on it! PS Use only genuine Brother label tape. I know it's too expensive. I want you to buy it in bulk at wholesale prices! But the cheaper fakes don't work as well as the real ones.
