The light is bright enough initially, but the sensors are terrible, at least for my purposes. I bought 2 of these lanterns, one light is on no matter how bright it is. It can be full daylight brightness and motion still turns it on. The other issue is that the motion sensor is on the farthest side of the world, so when driving (I bought these for my garage so I don't have to turn on the top fluorescent lights when walking from home to the driveway and vice versa). One way it works fine, the other way you have to be under it before it works. Maybe for a closet or something they would be fine, but not for a temporary scenario. Disappointed with my purchase.
