A 5/16" nut was used to replace the stupid plastic thread in the license plate bracket. I'm sure you've seen videos of commercial tools and home made tools doing it I used a properly threaded and length bolt, two regular flat washers and a 9/16" nut as a holding tool and used a 1/2" socket to drive the bolt in. It just keeps getting better.
