If you add a capacitor and a resistor everything works fine.

Hello, I have attached 2 pictures explaining what I have researched and tested with your LM2596 boards. Your board can't handle the over voltage of a circuit breaker that supplies 40V DC instantaneously. The input capacitors are listed under the technical designations. With capacitors, you should always think about twice the operating voltage. So if you're working with 50 VDC, you should use a 100 VDC capacitor. I connected an electrolytic capacitor in parallel at the input and a 0.5 ohm resistor in series at the positive input. In this configuration, the LM2596 board is safely powered up with an instantaneous 40V DC input, reducing the initial surge that sizzles the LM2596. They probably just sell them like all other sellers, but maybe send my email to the supplier and let them fix your product as it was designed solely based on the LM2596 datasheet. So this is just a copy and paste board, not a product for real use. I recommend fixing it. I will order these bad ones and send them back to you. Also, both holes must be the same size, one is 3mm, which is normal, the other is smaller, and a 3mm screw cannot be used in it. If your board is layered and someone widens the hole, your layers will be shortened and you'll get more profit. Make both holes 3mm. This is standard and correct. 3 stars, updated components and drilling, 5 stars. Sincerely Chaoren
