We adopted a 2 year old German Shepherd who is very energetic and didn't go through any discipline before we got him. He's a sweet dog with some basic training commands, but he lacked self-control and basic cage training, and slapping his nose or butt didn't help deter some bad moves like jumping on the counter. Boy did it happen! Now all we have to do is grab the controller and he'll know what he's done! He also had uncontrollable reactions to certain noises, like pressing the brake pedal in my Jeep or banging the garage door. It also helps us get a handle on the situation. Settings are even so high, our shock setting is 7 out of 100! This is a great tool for training a dog that is difficult for you to get to!
