Direct installation. Immediately improved gas mileage: 3 mpg.
Easy to install but the bottom nut is difficult to access so you will need a 10mm connecting rod and an extension to loosen it. Gas mileage improved immediately, with 3mpg combined and 7mpg highway. The only downside is that I have to use mid-range to prevent ping, but if it's guaranteed to keep going, it'll put money in your wallet!
