Review on Tekpower TP4000ZC Auto Ranging DMM with USB Interface - PC Based Digital Multimeter, Similar to MS8220R, Computer Compatible by Jason Hymon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good but limited range.

Works well with all the features of a typical multimeter plus some other features that other multimeters in this price range don't have such as: B. measuring frequency, temperature and capacitance. Software that uses RS232 is practically useless unless. You need an old PC with a 9-pin RS232 interface or a USB to RS232 adapter. The software is very rigid and ugly. The only thing I could use this for is if I want to chart a value over a period of time and I'm not even sure if this software will work. When I tried it briefly, it didn't seem to work. Plus, it simply displays what you see on the meter. Provides common red and black sensor, temperature sensor and RS232 cable. Auto range is nice to have as I got tired of turning the range knob on my other 2 meters. Auto shut off after 30 minutes to save battery. The best thing is that it only uses 2 AA batteries. My other 2 meters used 4 x AA and 9V. Also, the knob has an off position on either side of the dial, so you don't have to turn it all the way to one side to turn it off. case you can withdraw. A slide out or removed battery compartment would be more convenient than a screwed one. Display size is normal. Startup speed is normal. CONS: Capacitance measurement range is only up to 100uF.
