Used this on an Indiana limestone fireplace hearth. applied like a dream and looks great. It has a very SLIGHT wet look to it - but for the stone I used it on that was exactly what I wanted. For natural stone you definitely want to wash the crap off the surface first with a proper compatible cleaner. Also, you don't need to leave it on for the recommended 4-5 minutes. in fact, I would say wipe it off sooner vs. later so you don't risk any residue being left behind. then just apply a 2nd coat and you're good to go.
