Never worked properly

Numerous problems. Tried to get it working when I got it and put the device off until trying again after picking up one of the Bitluni ESP32 CAM programming boards. It didn't work - while it worked for him, I thought maybe the power supply was weak, so I went back to my breadboard setup. The device draws a lot of power, I ended up not using the power of the serial converter by putting a big cap on the power supply and using a desktop power supply to get the 5v input voltage down to about 5.3v 3 on the 3.3V rail was 0.3V. But even with a 3.3V rail that met specs and was fairly reliable, booting was very successful. I had to do the usual trick with these IO0s to ground, then reset, then program, and about 1 out of 5+ times it was able to work and complete the boot process. Sometimes he reached 5%, sometimes over 90% before he died. I left my meter on the whole time and didn't see any power fluctuations that could explain this oddity. In any case, I couldn't get the camera module to work even with the AI-THINKER setup. I kept getting the 0x20004 error that others have been getting. Tried reinstalling the FFC in its socket, no dice, nice and straight, the bottom is in the socket, the line on the mylar matches, there are still no dice. I only bought one, so I don't have a spare camera module.
