So I can't believe it actually works, but it works like a USB adapter for the Logitech Wingman Extreme. All buttons work perfectly. As mentioned in other comments, there is one weird mod you need to do. Contacts 2 and 7 of the controller (they are marked there) must be shorted / connected. You can use a piece of wire or even a coil tie, just make sure you have good contact on the pins, no contact on the other pins, otherwise the port connection will not sync (thin wire will do). The reason for this is that this short circuit is a mechanism in the joystick telling it that it is in "USB mode". Apparently you can also do this by opening the device and connecting it to the internal circuit board, but this is much easier.
