Handy Battery Powered Electric Pencil Sharpener

I sharpened 2 dozen pencils to see how well this sharpener works. A dozen dull pencils and a dozen new pencils. "Dim" and "Medium" settings seem to achieve the same result. The "Sharp" setting gives you a very sharp tip. I don't think I would use this pencil sharpener if you want a washed out/smudged look or want to mix colors; This is the bluntest setting giving you a point that is too sharp. The sharpener doesn't always stop when the pencil is sharp. I tried all three settings and sometimes the sharpness stopped, but not always. Out of a dozen new pencils, 3 kept sharpening until I pulled the pencil out, causing the pencils to go short. On the remaining 9, the sharpener stopped sharpening. With "blunt" sharp pencils, the result was about the same. I liked the electric or battery option. The electricity worked whether you had batteries installed or not. I have a socket with a USB plug. I was able to use it instead of the regular AC plug. I may have imagined it, but when I did the sharpener seemed to slow down a bit. When I had sharpened two dozen pencils, the chip holder was full. You can see the chips status and clear them before they are full. All in all I like this sharpener. I like versatility. It's heavier than any battery-powered models I've reviewed.
