These work like a charm to convert your computer's DisplayPort output to work with a VGA, DVI or HDMI monitor. Note that not all computers have DisplayPort outputs, and that this adapter will NOT enable you to connect two monitors to a single DisplayPort output, at least not such that you'd be able to use Windows' Extend Desktop function. I used two of these adapters on a computer that had two DisplayPort outputs (and no other kind of video output), connecting one to a VGA monitor and the other to a DVI monitor. (That computer can, indeed, use Windows' Extend Desktop feature, because it's using two separate video outputs, each connected to one adapter, connected, in turn, to its own monitor.)
