Rosin Paste Flux #135 in 2 oz can

Failed to load media. Rosin Paste Flux #135 in a 2-ounce can. To make this review worthy you need to tell the full story and why customer service matters. I first ordered Rosin Paste Flux #35 because I needed an inexpensive flux for everyday soldering and DIY jobs without breaking the bank. When I received and looked at it my first thought was "This is not what I expected" and judge it by the color because it was much darker than it looks in the promotional photos and reviews (I like bright white rosin flux) so I emailed the seller that the color on my tin was much darker so I got the impression the flux was old. The seller replied to my email that the color kept changing but the product was the same. I sent it back and got my money back but to my surprise another jar was delivered the next day and it looked the same as the first one so I decided to actually test it. The video I uploaded is just a short video, the test was more extensive with 3 different types of solder 60/40 uncored, 60/40 flux filled and lead free 96.5/3/5, and with all 3 fluxes #135 was that Solder very well good 805 SMD and also through whole semiconductors. It failed when using hot air at 200-330°C for two minutes. In the short video I used unfluxed 60/40 solder for the simple reason of showing the actual work of Flux #135 rosin paste, as the fluxed version already has flux in it so this is not a true performance test of Flux #135 .135 is. In the second test I used a plain wick with no flux and obviously the soldering flux isn't going anywhere and almost seems like the iron didn't have enough heat, but once a small amount of Rosin Paste Flux #135 is applied to the wick the solder will act like a Sponge sucked into the wick, yes, the wettability of #135 flux surprises me again.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • dull packaging
