I used this product on my first epoxy pour which was on a cherry wood mantel for our fireplace. I used masking tape around the top surface to hold the epoxy in place. However, this resulted in the formation of a meniscus (raised rim) around the perimeter of the mantel. I ended up using an angle grinder to sand down the embossed epoxy and obviously lost the shiny finish. I sanded the perimeter with an orbital sander. I ended up using 3000, 5000 and 7000 grit sandpaper. But unfortunately the glossy finish never came back. The first photo shows a foggy finish. I read some reviews that said they couldn't get a glossy finish with this product but decided to give it a try anyway. I applied some polish to a washcloth and hand polished for a few minutes. I was amazed at the results. The glossy surface has been completely restored. For those who haven't had good results with this product, it's probably because they didn't pre-sand properly with progressively finer grit. I definitely recommend it!
