Lower pivot first: (pic 1) Left shock absorber is original; still firmly attached to the ball. The correct damper is a replacement; not suitable. Of course you can get it on a ball joint, but it will slip off at the slightest pressure. Dangerous! Top Pivot: (Figure 2) The shock on the left is an OEM part with a tilt head mount. A nudge to the right is a spare; straight nozzle head, without angle. Much more difficult to attach. Increased load on the shock absorbers / joints. This makes it more likely that the bottom hinge will slip off. You'll do a great job if you buy them for King Ranch Super Duty.
