Review on ๐Ÿšฐ Moen Brantford T6620BN Two Handle Widespread Faucet by Jeff Davidson

The m-pact system is a good idea and a must if you buy this fitting.

The m-pact system is a good idea and a must have when purchasing this faucet set. It's just an expensive fairing kit with no plumbing valves. I have original m-pact fittings from 1999-2003 at home, so they should be compatible with this system. Unfortunately, this kit and Moen didn't suit me. My original spout has a Moen design flaw that allows water to easily drip through the spout handle hole onto the M-Pact deck assembly, causing it to rust and stick to the spout. This prevents the old spout from being removed by the m-pact system. Moen will not honor its lifetime warranty if you do not provide receipts for your original purchase and will not assist in any way to remedy this defect. They also don't sell the broken part and require me to buy a brand new valve system, now made out of cheaper plastic than brass. I would not buy this kit assuming you can use any old valves as there is no guarantee they will work. The kit doesn't even include new o-rings for the m-pact system, so assume you end up buying new valves for $80. I also noticed that this new system is significantly cheaper than my 15 year old Moen kit. It has plastic threads instead of brass and contains less than half the total metal content. It's also narrower, so it shows more of your counter that may be discolored. Now it is only assembled in the US from foreign parts, not American-made ones. When installed, however, it looks very good. The m-pact system might work if you want to change fixtures every year or two, but for me it was an expensive waste of time and money. It's cheaper to use another brand that has all the working parts and meets their warranty. Moen isn't as good as it used to be and in my opinion too expensive for what you're getting now.

Pros
  • DURABLE: Backed by Moen Limited Lifetime Warranty
Cons
