Have purchased two of these compasses for testing and am quite satisfied.My brother (Royal Rangers) and I (BSA) have instructed many in the use of compasses for Scouts, Orienteering and the Military. This compass has the devices to take one into Lensatic, Transit and back to basic Orienteering compasses.Suggestions for Scout Masters: Repaint your compass a bright color. That way when your boys drop this baby in the dirt they will be able to find it. Put a thicker bright colored lanyard on it. Remind them that compasses are not made for swinging around your head or banging tent pegs into the ground.Note: Some reviewers have have problems with quality control. Many times I have ordered 25 or more compasses for my classes from different suppliers and have mostly had to return at least 2 out of 25 from any supplier.Also remember. Never take anything in the field you can't afford to loose.
