I managed to pierce it with a felting needle. Ouch!
I bought it for my friend who is a needle felter. Serrated felting needles tend to be quite painful if you poke yourself, so some protection is a good idea when working with the details. During use, she found that the item didn't interfere with her fine detail work and the silicone material provided a pretty good grip. Maybe she was feeling too aggressive, but she managed to stab through once and pierce the tip of her finger. You had a job, finger guard! Finger guards generally offer good protection, but I feel like they must be a little harder to accidentally pierce,
