Review on Optimized Performance: 🔧 Rancho RS9000XL RS999047 Shock Absorber by Kurt Ahui

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Check them before fitment - No Quality Control

I bought two of these shocks for the rear of my F350. After installation, I found that the dial for adjusting the pressure on one of them did not work at all (learned to check it carefully before the next installation). Revain does a great job with replacements and returns so I asked to return the faulty shock and get a replacement. Received one straight away, although unfortunately the replacement turned out to be a returned item with a partially working dial and some dents. I don't know if this experience is pure luck or not, but I do know that I've learned to test things thoroughly before wasting time building on them. I am concerned that two of the three dismissals had problems when I received them. Anyhow, I would give them 3 stars for two reasons: 1) Even with the dial working I can't tell any difference in the movement of my pickup, 2) getting 1 out of 3 that actually worked properly is a quality control issue . (Actually, I have to say that 1 out of 3 had an adjustment dial that could be turned properly - maybe it really doesn't work, which would explain why I don't feel any difference in the ride no matter how I set the dampers). Can't tell if the problem is with the manufacturer (in Mexico) or with Revain sending products back when a new order arrives - either way I wouldn't personally buy them again as I'm not impressed with the performance. and what I got for the amount they cost.
