Review on Gates K080948 V Belt by Michael Miner

Good price, installed as needed, works great. No more annoying old belt squeak. Less stars: Update, driven about 10 miles, is ours noticed what a weird "popping" noise, quite high pitched. I turned off the engine and found the edge of the belt came loose, about 18 inches long, about the width of a chunky yarn. I wanted this one Cut piece and go I'm not sure what I installed wrong, maybe the pup overlapped but I don't think the belt could be older, the packaging isn't the freshest which could be a factor, just got it Bought a new one locally newer packaging hope it lasts longer to 4 stars with 2 (out of 4) I don't think the strap was the problem Second strap had the same problem A minor rech Erche showed me that the belt tensioner is the problem and needs Xia in exchange at normal frequencies, well I replaced the tensioner, the old one has h there are some problems and it seems that this problem along with the 3rd new belt has been fixed.
