2 stars here's why: First, the metal slide/gauge/ruler (whatever) doesn't have a device lock. I move it with my thumb but don't stop and as the metal slider moves it changes the position of the pencil. To compensate for this, I have to apply pressure between my thumb and fingers. This pressure also moves part of the pencil up or down because the plastic body is too thin (or I have a kung fu grip). I think it's obvious what happens when the pencil moves over you. In my opinion, this trend has failed.
