We bought two of these for a recent trip and found them to be easy to assemble, versatile and powerful. Wind resistance, bike sway and fuel economy were significantly better than the previous rack. The fork mounts were easy to use and extremely reliable; We've covered over 1,100 miles at 65-80 mph with no issues and minimal noise. A few installation tips (and seller suggestions): (1) Slide a length of hard rubber/plastic tubing onto each of the two U-bolts that run under the roof rack crossbar at the front of the bike rack; This softens the contact point with the crossbar and improves traction. (2) Cover the bottom of the front bracket; We used a small hard piece of rubber backed carpet placed between the bracket and the top of the crossbar. This also softens and improves the grip; Failure to do so will nick the edges of the steel bracket and center mounting bolts and possibly even damage the extruded aluminum crossbar when tightened. (3) Add lock washers between the two rear screw heads and the flat bracket they attach to the bottom. rear crossbar. This ensures that the handles don't fall off or get lost (which can happen if they come loose). Overall, this is a well-designed, economical, and powerful rack. Bravo!
