Review on ๐Ÿ”— OE Technology Multi-V Belt by Continental 4060855 by John Banks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

That was the old trusty Goodyear Gatorback Serpentine Belt Now Continental Elite Some better belts $ Can be purchased and recommended

This is the old Goodyear Gatorback (Gator Back) serpentine belt (Gator Back, serpentine belt, etc.) part of the Costs we used to sell/install at Goodyear when I worked at NC Perry Brothers Goodyear, a Goodyear tire, rubber and belt business. Shop in North Carolina many years ago. The protector of this belt is thick, durable and unique. I never heard a single squeak and never had to change the one I put on. While some stores say "oh you see those cracks on that belt, you need to replace it to keep it from breaking", this is a complete lie. I can take a 15 year old snapped belt and use it to lift a 3540 and I have it. The straps don't break. However, they squeak, can slip on the pulley, and cause alternator loading, electrical, power steering, and cooling problems. Belt squeaking is a good sign that you need to replace it (but don't listen to a mechanic who tells you a 2 year old cracked belt will snap if they bend it back because they're either lying about it for sale or don't know about it as they say) It's like they say. For timing belts and toothed belts, I prefer two. A top notch Continental like this that is actually a vintage Goodyear Gatorback, high quality design and belt by Dayco. Dayco premium straps. The Continental Elite belt is a super premium serpentine belt for life. If you've replaced your idler, tensioner, pulley/P/S system and are still getting a squeak from your regular belt design, this Gatorback or Continental Elite will solve that problem. Forever, DO NOT apply these new products and sprays to Dayco or Continental Elite belts. You don't need it with these quality products and it can do more harm than good.
