This lamp definitely works! almost too good! I bought this for the chick brood we have and the lamp was probably too hot and intense for them. I put in a red heating pad and after a few minutes the lamp body was very hot! I just felt it was too much heat for the chicks and sadly had to return it BUT I can see how this would work well with a reptile as it puts out a lot of heat in a small area! I just didn't want to risk overheating the chickens!
