I may be going through a moai phase - I bought this with the Easter Head napkin holder. And have not regretted any purchase. I find these statues fascinating, no matter the shape or size. Follow the directions and wash them well before first use (I soaked them in soapy water for a few hours and then scrubbed them well). I didn't notice any weird aftertaste from the ice figures (and I can feel the water depending on the source!). The silicone-based material makes it easy to remove the ice figures without breaking them. However, getting it in the freezer without spilling the whole kitchen is a hassle. I have to fill them in the freezer with a small measuring cup. And that's my only complaint. It doesn't matter, but is there any real reason why this ice mold should be almost double the price of any other new ice mold made by the same company? I think increased demand. RECOMMENDED. (but probably wait for the price to drop again)
