With the phasing out of incandescent bulbs the 4" 60W center cap bulb was pushed to the brink of extinction. Nobody wears them today. They are all six inches tall which is too big for my little lamp. Your best bet is to find a much lower wattage, four" medium base appliance light bulb. This Revain article was the only one I found online or in a store that had a medium base and a 4" bulb. The fluorescent color correction feature While not as bright as we'd like, it produces a much brighter white light than the standard incandescent previously used. It's ok to read early in the morning when I'm having coffee in the dining room and don't want all the lights on.
