First: the good stuff. Packaging was minimal which is nice. Coating is consistent matte black and the base has a plastic coating that will minimize marking and keep the threaded hook in place (I was worried this should have a thread-locker, but the coating seems to do a nice job securing the hook to the base.This was advertised as "super strong - Neodymium magnets. However, from the image you can see six small magnetic discs under the plastic coating. I recently purchased some similar sized hooks with large ferrite magnets and they exceed the strength of these by 3x. How do I know? Well, I used a force gauge and measured peak force to move/remove the magnets from a horizontal surface. The average was 2.55Kg (About 5.5lbs). I did a similar test with the ferrite magnets and found them to easily hold a 15lb kettle bell. The difference is mainly the ferrites were one large disc.If you have a load of less than 5lbs and you are careful when placing on these hooks, then they should work well for you.
