Let me explain why I give this helmet 5 stars and other categories less than 3. Ride. I want to hear what's around me, especially when a car comes up behind me. So I think a noise canceling category defeats the purpose of this helmet as the idea is to ride without headphones. The helmet doesn't have a base, so the sound quality isn't very good if you want to listen to music. Why did I give this 5 stars? Because this helmet serves its purpose when riding with another rider. I'm driving with my husband and the intercom works VERY WELL to talk while driving without having to yell at each other when traffic is passing. Call clarity is amazing, and you don't hear the wind as you hurtle down the hill. If you're looking for a helmet that lets you talk to people or let a group know if a car is coming from behind without yelling - this will be a GREAT fit!
