Review on Gates K060990HD Micro V Belt by Will Jenkins

I have changed the belts, hoses, filters, antifreeze, transmission oil etc on my truck every five years since it was new. The truck is not normally used very much and this 5 year work (along with regular maintenance) has given me a flawless and trouble free ride for 23 years! This time I tried all the Gates straps and tubes based on the good reviews here on Revain. And let's face it, Gates is a trustworthy name. So, specifically about this belt, I bought it in February 2016 and it's now February 2018. Unfortunately after less than 2 years the belt started creaking like a room full of squeakers waiting to be fed! Yes, it is quite noticeable and drives me crazy! We all know fret doesn't work, so it's not even an option. The only way I've ever found to get rid of belt noise is to replace the belt. And that's what I do in the end. The rest of the belt is fine. And while this may be an isolated case, I won't be buying another one. And just to be clear, I didn't put the strap on right away when I bought it, and the noise started a few months ago. That would mean I had most of it around 18-20 months. In my opinion this is a loss. :(
