Clear, simple navigation but some store locations may be outdated

Bought this unit for my dad who is vacationing in Florida. He doesn't have a smartphone and I wanted to make sure he could get to the desired location in an unfamiliar area. He's a technophobe, but with practice he's been able to use it without too much trouble so far. A nice feature is that I could set the location where it is as "Home" so it can always press "Go Home" and that brings it back to where it is . There are options to navigate by shortest distance or shortest time (default is shortest time). Haven't seen the traffic data make a difference yet, but it might be because there was no traffic when I was in the car. The map and software updates can be downloaded to your computer and then used to update the device via USB. They seem to be updated frequently, but upon testing I found that trying to find an office warehouse near me brought up a location that had been closed for two years. Interestingly, he had an Aldi listing replacing him at the same address. The map data in the device was up to date. I think this information is provided by FourSquare and TripAdvisor, so it's not specific to Garmin, but these other databases still contain old information (I would imagine they keep a record in the database and state that the location is closed but through There was no indication from the GPS that it wasn't there). So far this is my only criticism - make sure the shop still exists before you go!
