Disappointed with batteries.

After receiving this set I carefully removed the small protrusions that are underneath the batteries. I was disappointed that the three hooks didn't work. At first I used the spare batteries that came with it (they work fine now) but I need to buy two more sets of batteries before I have a fully working set. I think, these devices should be checked before shrinking them. or there must be multiple sets of batteries in the kit. Aside from these issues, the set is fine and appears to be working well.
