Bought to prevent mealworms and small dubia from running into the enclosure where my bearded dragon lives. This used to be a problem, and I've had dubias hiding under the carpet of the substrate. So far it keeps everything in and is very easy to clean. One of the things I feared was that my pet might get burned on the plate under the heat lamp. Luckily it doesn't get hot so it won't burn your reptile in extreme heat. The earth around the plate reaches about 100* while the plate itself remains about 80*. It also came with a cute panda rug!
