Excellent kettle, looks good, heats up quickly, retains heat, but after 2.5 months one fine day the thermometer's plastic screen melted and swelled. We normally turn off the burner when it reaches 93C, but I think we let it simmer one morning and the excess heat radiation melted the plastic. A device designed to achieve boiling must not have such a defect. Up until this point, however, I've thoroughly enjoyed the morning pours this little kettle made possible, but since temperature is so important to the caffeine extraction process and flavor I have to give it 2 stars. Watch your kettles and make sure you remove them from the heat when they reach the desired temperature.
