Review on Quantum LTO3 800GB TAPE MR L3MQN 01 by John Rodriguez

I have a Quantum LTO-3 desktop drive and the best tapes for it are these Quantum tapes. I usually order a 5 pack just because they come in packs of 5 and I love it when the seller sends the whole pack. I bought one from Revain hoping the same would happen, but the warehouse clerk decided to rip open the packaging and put the tapes in a smaller box. Since these bands are sensitive to shock, I wasn't very happy with them. My shipping issues aside, the bands deserve 4 because they don't match. Anyone who uses tapes knows that you have to reckon with several program writing errors (1000-8000, by the way) per tape. They can be from 2000 to 8000 in a pack of 5. The more abused a package is, the more errors you will get. Overall this is a good product but if you need Quantum tech support they will help. They're almost useless, and if after a week of troubleshooting they decide to swap out your drive, you have to queue because they don't order replacement drives. They don't seem to have a "business class" backup service to help you get your data back the next day, because in business you're more likely to get fired if you don't.
