Difficult to install on tub walls of uneven thickness

Before ordering, there are three important things to check: how strong your tub is, how even the inner wall is in relation to the outer wall and the wall thickness. It took a long time. Modifications (and vulgarities) to make it work on my bath. If I had time I would send it back. However, I needed it ASAP for my mother-in-law. First, the clamp is very strong and puts a lot of pressure on the tub wall. We have a one piece fiberglass shower and tub which is not as durable as the others. The guide is designed to be pressed quite hard against the wall, which puts a lot of stress on the bathtub. Second, if it's not parallel inside and out, it won't clamp properly without significant pressure on a point. bathroom wall. This also means that much more torque than intended is required to tighten the screw used. This resulted in one of mine popping when trying to fully clamp it and I had to replace it. In my opinion it would damage the tub if I tightened it further. Clamping it all the way down would probably damage even stronger tubs than ours. To solve this problem I had to bend the bracket to fit the profile of the wall. Third, and this is entirely my fault, is the thickness of the wall. The narrowest size it's made for is 3.5 inches and our tub wall is narrower. I ended up using a block of wood between the clamp and the tub wall to make them wide enough. If I didn't need it so badly I would probably return it. easily on walls 3.5 inches wide or larger that have no corner
